Genie Giaimo

Writing Center Director

Dr. Genie Giaimo is the Director of Ohio State's Writing Center. Her areas of interest include quantitative research that assesses student perceptions of writing centers and writing self-efficacy. She also is excited to train graduate students for writing center research and administration at two-year and four-year colleges and to support the development of undergraduate research in writing centers. Interviews with Dr. Giaimo have appeared in Praxis: A Writing Center Journal and she is guest editing a special issue on two-year college writing center assessment and research slated to be published in fall 2017. She also has an article under review with Writing Center Journal. Her approach to writing center work is to ask honest and targeted questions about mission, management, and scholarship and then assess, assess, assess. She is excited to bring her experience as a consultant and Assistant Director at Northeastern University, as well as her experience as a Director to the OSU Writing Center.
