A new look for the Writing Center!

January 24, 2017
A smiling consultant stands next to a sign that reads "The Writing Center" with a large white arrow. She holds a colorful card that reads "Let's do this."

The Writing Center kicked off the new semester with an open house on January 11th inviting the university community into our freshly renovated space. Guests represented departments and programs from all corners of the university, including anthropology, chemistry, engineering, English, math, and pharmacy. We also welcomed visitors from numerous administrative and professional units, including the College of Arts and Sciences; Military and Veterans Services; the Office of Distance Education and eLearning; and University Libraries.

Administrators, faculty, staff, and students gathered for food, fellowship, and tours of the updated center. These tours showcased the rooms’ new features: a vibrant color scheme; open, easily navigable session stations; and a spacious lounge for clients and consultants alike.

The new central consulting space; several working stations are arranged around an open floor, and the walls are a soft yellow.

Consultants were on hand to offer sample sessions, information about the center’s services, and assistance with registering for our new scheduling system.

Please drop in during business hours to check out our new space; we’d be happy to show you around!
