November 4, 2016 4:00 – 5:00 Postdoctoral Writing Workshop—Academic Cover Letters
This workshop will lead you through the academic cover letter, including the teaching and research sections as well as tethering qualifications to job description and academic institution. This workshop will offer support under the guidance of a trained Writing Center consultant, as well as the Director of the Writing Center. Workshop attendees will discuss the nuances of applying to different academic positions, as well as ways to highlight and communicate one’s qualifications elegantly and effectively.

November 18, 2016 4:00 – 5:00 Postdoctoral Writing Workshop—Sit down and write!
In the third and final workshop, come to the 18th Ave. Research Commons to work on your personal postdoctoral writing goals. In this workshop, we offer a similar service to our weekly sit down and write writing group. Writers get a chance to write in a quiet and supportive space alongside colleagues and a trained Writing Center consultant. Use this workshop to get the ball rolling on long-term writing goals, as a way to finish-up a nagging goal, or as a mid-way check-in while in a supportive environment.
