WAC consultants and GTAs discuss sample rubrics at a workshop on assessing student writing. The Writing Across the Curriculum program supports teachers throughout the Ohio State University who use writing in their teaching, collaborating with them to develop innovative approaches for writing instruction. We strive to connect Ohio State’s best teachers to talk about emerging challenges and opportunities in 21st century communication, to investigate best practices in the classroom, and to share research on how writing can be a powerful tool for teaching and learning.
WAC consults regularly with individual instructors about teaching, helping them create assignments and activities, and providing in-class workshops and resources for them and their students. We develop our own online resources and showcase those of exceptional colleagues from across OSU on our resource wiki. Furthermore, we regularly facilitate workshops for groups campuswide on topics related to writing instruction.
