OSU-CSTW Summer Writing Camp 2008
"Multimedia Oral Reflections"

June 16-20, 2008, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

OSU Learning Collaboration Studio, Science & Engineering Library

During the week-long camp, students wrote essays based on a personal reflection about a specific person or a current or historical event and presented 3- to 5-minute multimedia speeches on their work. The Ohio State University Libraries and the Willie & Vivian Gaddis Foundation for K.I.D.S. sponsored essay and oral contests, respectively, for camp students with cash prizes. Students learned about writing, the research and peer review processes, critical thinking about a variety of topics, and perfect integration of text, visual, and audio technologies using PowerPoint. Students also saw the exhibits at the OSU Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center and heard a presentation by Director Larry Williamson and campus undergraduates.
